Ron--

Went to Bed Bath and Beyond today with Ty. We're looking for new sheets for our bed. How exciting. But while we were there Ty reached over to and held my hand as we were walking around. And of course I held it back, 'cause I just wasn't thinking about anything. You know what I mean? I was just at the store with my baby and it felt natural to hold hands, so we did. No big deal, right?

Well, this woman and her kid were standing near us looking at something. Well, the kid (who was like 7 or something) was stairing at me and Ty, no problem...kids stair at lots of stuff. So I did what I normally do when I see a kid, I waved at him and said "hi". Well, the mom heard me and turned around to see what was going on and imediatly grabed her kids hand and walked (quickly) in the other direction.

Who knows, she could have just not liked the fact that some stranger was waving and talking to her son, but I have a feeling that it had to do with the fact that I was holding another man's hand.

It's just annoying that people are still that closed minded. But I'm not going to go on and on about how wrong the world is. I'm old enough to know that the world has infact changed a lot. Just the fact that we didn't get thrown out of the store, or shot at or something is saying something. So I'm just going to leave it at she was just a closed minded idiot. The end.

I'm really sorry to hear about that! That is a horrible incident, minor though it may be. I myself am 22, and at that point where I am questioning my sexuality, but my own spiritual beliefs and faith is interfering with that. Don't be embarrassed at all to hold hands with someone whom you love. THAT is the greatest gift that one could recieve in this world: loving someone for who they are and for being there for you. Fear comes from being Niave, and fear of the act/person only increases fear of the thing itself. Congradulations for taking it so well! It pleases me to know that there are many people in this world who are happy with themselves and are not afraid to show it.

It's funny....the majority of folks whom I know or have met are open minded Liberal people, and all say that they have nothing against gays or homosexuals at all. However, I'll be willing to bet, that if they were placed in the same sitsuation as the lady was, they would have probably reacted the same way. Not all of those people perhaps, but a good majority of them.

If anyone would like to talk more about this, my msgr/mail adress is vladpryde@hotmail.com I'm always interested in meeting new people online and seeing who's out there. I have GOT to get a Live Journal account asap, because I'm discovering alot of cool communities out there under LJ. Keep up the good work, and good job Ron.

Ron--

Being over 50 one tends to start to mellow I guess. Yeah, some people can deffinitly be hypocrites...but if they aren't actually used to seeing something then it's kind of understandable to do something slightly, um, rude. I mean, to this day, I see someone without a leg, or with some type of deformity and I catch my self stairing...don't mean to, and when I realize I'm doing it I quickly stop...but it's just human nature I guess. I figure the more people are exposed to what freaks them out the more they'll learn to deal with it.

**Author's Note** Don't forget this is all fiction. I know you don't have a LJ account, so you probably didn't realize this before hand...hope that doesn't make you feel cheated or anything...there really are people out there like the ones in my LJ...if you want more information on the story just check out my userinfo page and you'll get the idea of what I mean by this being all fiction. Take care...and if you do get an LJ account don't hesitate to stop by :O)

After a story is told

There is a truth in every film produced, there is reality in every corner of a script, there is a fine art in getting people to actually feel a story to come to life, i believe this is very well done

it may take you a step further in actually publishing your story/ies ie
